Lougheed House: Surprise Visit

I was the lead carpenter working on Lougheed House in 2004.  This Sandstone building was originally built in 1896. One of my most rewarding tasks was to install the new railings you see on the second floor.  One day we had a surprise visit from none other than Premier Peter Lougheed himself.  My Supervisor wasn’t on site at the time so I rushed out to greet the Premier and his son; Joe.  I asked if I could take a photo of him in front of his Grandfather’s house. He replied: “Not unless you’re in it too”. I hightly recommend you go visit this famous Calgary landmark.
