Lougheed House Introduction

Lougheed House is one of the oldest homes in Calgary; built in 1891. Peter Lougheed's grandfather lived there. I was the lead carpenter in a crew that restored it. Now Lougheed House is a museum for all Albertans to enjoy.

One morning I saw a familiar face and realized it was Premier Lougheed himself.  His grandfather was the original resident of Lougheed House.  I asked him if I could have the honor of taking his picture.  Peter Lougheed replied: "Not unless you're in it too."  From left to right: Premier Lougheed, Steve Tennant, Trudy Cowen (Head of the Lougheed House Committee), Joe Lougheed (the Premier's son).

Lougheed House was vandalized one Saturday night.  You can read my theory of what happened in 'Lougheed House Trial'.
